First of all , we know that mean simply means average . The formula for calculating average / mean is :

Sum of all entities ÷ by number of entities.

So , lets start with Sadie.

41+ 44 +46+ 46 +48=225

225 ÷5 =53

Therefore the mean of Sadie's mean was 53.

Now for Penelope.

We will use the same formula.

44+44+47+48+50=233

233÷5=46.6

Therefore Penelope's mean was 46.6.

We can see that Sophie had the highest mean .To find the difference just subtract the means.
