A store regularly sells a Nintendo Switch Lite for $200. They are currently on sale for 30% off and in your state the sales tax is 8%. What would be the final cost for the consumer (including tax) if they buy the Nintendo Switch Lite?

not really a math wizard but i learnt this a month ago

200 x 30% is 60 then i guess you subtract 60 from 200 which is 140 then im pretty sure you multiply the sales tax aka 8% to 140 which would be 8% x 140 = 11.2 then you add 11.2 to 140 and i think that gives you 151.2

Answer:

$151.20

Explanation:

The sale price of the Nintendo Switch Lite is 30% off its regular price of $200, which means the discount is:

Discount = 30% x $200 = $60

The sale price of the Nintendo Switch Lite after the discount is:

Sale price = $200 - $60 = $140

The sales tax in the state is 8%, so the tax amount on the sale price is:

Tax amount = 8% x $140 = $11.20

Therefore, the final cost for the consumer, including tax, would be:

Final cost = Sale price + Tax amount = $140 + $11.20 = $151.20

Hence, the final cost for the consumer, including tax, would be $151.20 if they buy the Nintendo Switch Lite.
