Tesla attended several schools during his education. He started his primary education in the Austrian Empire at the Karlstadt Gymnasium in Karlstadt, Croatia (modern-day Croatia) in 1870. Later, he studied at the Higher Real Gymnasium in Karlstadt and completed his secondary education in three years instead of the usual four.

In 1875, Tesla entered the Austrian Polytechnic in Graz, Austria (modern-day Austria), to pursue his higher education in engineering. He studied there for three years, but he did not graduate. Instead, he left the school in 1878, before completing his degree, due to financial difficulties and conflicts with his professors.

After leaving the Austrian Polytechnic, Tesla continued his education through extensive reading and self-study, which allowed him to develop his ideas and theories in science and engineering. He eventually moved to the United States in 1884, where he began working with Thomas Edison and continued to pursue his own experiments and innovations.
