Use the quadratic formula to solve the equation.

What are the solutions to the equation 4x² + 3x + 1 = 0?

x = -3/8 + √-7 /8
x = -3/8 - √-7 /8

Quadratic formula is

-b +- √ b^2 - 4ac / 2a


We know a= 4, b=3, c=1

-3 +- √3^2 (-4) (4) (1) / 2(4)

-3 +- √ 9 - 16 / 8

-3+- √ -7 /8

x = -3/8 + √-7 /8
x = -3/8 - √-7 /8

I snipped my calculator answers and attached because they make more sense and include the “i” for negative square root that is imaginary number
