Napoleon Bonaparte is often credited with ending the French Revolution.

After a period of political instability following the Revolution, Napoleon rose to power and established a new government, the Consulate, in 1799. He then became the first consul of the new government, effectively ending the revolutionary period. In 1804, he was crowned Emperor of the French, which marked the end of the Revolution and the beginning of a new era in French history.
