I believe why a person may loose their voice is because they may have been smoking, or overusing the voice, and/or may have a upper respiratory infection like a cold, bronchitis or even the flu. They can also loose their voice if they have been throwing up too.

Answer: Acute laryngitis

Step-by-step explanation:

Viral infections similar to those that cause a cold. Vocal strain, caused by yelling or overusing your voice. Bacterial infections, although these are less common.
