In William Shakespeare's play "Romeo and Juliet," Romeo suggests to his friends that they should not attend the Capulet's feast and celebration because he has had a premonition of his own death. However, his friend Mercutio persuades him to attend, and they eventually end up at the feast. Romeo does not offer anything to avoid celebrating, but rather he tries to convince his friends not to go.
