For example, "I would need to going camel racing one day!" doesn't make much sense, but "I would like to go camel racing one day!" makes sense. For #2, comparing two things that you enjoy uses than since "then" is usually used to talk about time. (For example, "back then I lived in Idaho" and "i like brownies more than cookies.")
