There are probably more, but here are some key similarities and differences

Similarities:

- both have a variable to the exponent 0 (anything to the power of 0 = 1)

y = b(x^0) and x = b(y^0) where b is any real number

- they are both in the form of a variable being equal to a number

Differences:

- they are perpendicular

- vertical lines are x = b (no y in the equation) whereas horizontal lines

are y = b (no x in the equation)
