A=((b1+b2)/2)*h

This is the formula for the area of a trapezoid. You first find the average of the bases, and then multiply that by the height to get your final answer.

If the problem is not this simple, you may need to use Pythagoreans Theorem in order to solve the area of the trapezoid by adding the areas of the triangles within the trapezoid.
