The number of streamers to buy in order for the total lengths of the streamers to be equal is 0 streamers.

How to solve word problem.

Given that

The length of orange streamers = 9 ft

The length of black streamers = 12 ft

Let n be the number of streamers.

The total length of the orange streamers

= length of each * n = 9 * n

= 9n

The total length of the black streamers

= length of each * n = 12 * n

= 12n

For the total lengths of the streamers to be equal

9n = 12n

Solve fo n

9n - 12n = 0

-3n = 0

n = 0

Therefore, the number of streamers to buy in order for the total lengths of the streamers to be equal is 0 streamer.
