The slope-intercept equation is : y = -1/3x + 6

Using the parameters given :

  • slope = -1/3
  • Point (3, 5)

The general form of slope-intercept equation is : y = bx + c

  • b = slope , c = intercept

y = -1/3x + c

Using the points given (3, 5)

5 = -x/3(3) + c

5 = -1 + c

c = 5 + 1

c = 6

The slope-intercept equation is : y = -1/3x + 6
