Slope intercept form y=mx+b

m=slope

b=y intercept

parallel lines have the same slope

so to find the slope we use the slope formula
(y_(2)-y_(1) )/(x_(2)-x_(1) ) with points given us


(-1-2)/(2-(-3))\\(-3)/(5) \\-(3)/(5)is the slope

Fill this in


y=-(3)/(5)x+b

To find b we will put in the coordinates (3,0)


0=-(3)/(5) (3)+b\\0=-(9)/(5) +b

Add 9/5 to both sides


(9)/(5) =b

Now we fill in b


y=-(3)/(5)x+(9)/(5)
