What happened as a result of most of the food produced in Georgia being used to supply confederate troops ?

There are three parts to this; the first is that you can't eat cotton (and tobacco's little better) and a slave economy is limited, the second is that American infrastructure at the start of the war was terrible, and the third is that the Confederate government had no will, desire, or mandate to fix the
infrastructure and hence the logistics even if they had the ability.
