Jacob had some candy to give to his five children. He first took six pieces for himself and then evenly divided the rest among his children. Each child received three pieces. With how many pieces did he start?

Because if each of his 5 children got 3, then there were 15 candies before he divided them. And to get before he took 6 candies for himself, add 6 to 15 to get 21
