the equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

y = - 2x + 3 ← is in slope- intercept fprm

with slope m = - 2

2x + y = 7 ( subtract 2x from both sides )

y = - 2x + 7 ← in slope- intercept form

The slopes of both lines are equal , thus the lines are parallel
