Δ UVW and Δ XYW are similar ( by the AA postulate ) , then the ratios of corresponding sides are in proportion, that is


(WV)/(WY) =
(WU)/(WX) ( substitute values )


(WV)/(18) =
(35)/(15) ( cross- multiply )

15 WV = 630 ( divide both sides by 15 )

WV = 42
