When you are simplifying like terms, do you take the sign (+ or -) from after the first number, or before the second number? i hope this makes sense sry if it doesn't. thx thooo

=4+−2y+−8y+6.8

Combine Like Terms:

=4+−2y+−8y+6.8

=(−2y+−8y)+(4+6.8)

=−10y+10.8

If I was simplifying the equation 56 - 21x + 39 - 14x I would do -21x - 14x to get -35x and then I would do 56 + 39 to get 95. So my simplified equation would be 95 - 35x.
