By trigonometric functions, the height of the building is 20.626 feet.

How to determine the height of the building by trigonometric functions

In this question we must determine the height of a building according to the features of the geometric system seen in the figure and the application of trigonometric functions. Thus, we can determine the height of a building by means of the following expression:

h = 5 ft + x ft

h = 5 ft + (20 ft) · tan 38º

h = 5 ft + 20.626 ft

h = 20.626 ft

The building has a height of 20.626 feet.
