The football team wants to buy Coach Johnson a gift. They all have raised $120. They bought a sweater for $58, and want to buy energy drinks for $2.68. How many energy drinks can they buy?

you subtract the cost of the sweater and then divide the remaining amount by the cost of one energy drink.

Total money raised = $120
Cost of sweater = $58
Money remaining = Total money raised - Cost of sweater
Money remaining = $120 - $58 = $62

Cost of one energy drink = $2.68
Number of energy drinks they can buy = Money remaining ÷ Cost of one energy drink
Number of energy drinks = $62 ÷ $2.68 ≈ 23

They can buy 23 energy drinks with the remaining money after purchasing the sweater.
