perimeter is 36 cm, what is its area?

L=4W-2

P=2L+2W

36= 2(4W-2)+2W

36= 8W-4 +2W

36= 10W-4

36+4=10W

40=10W

40/10=W

W=4

L=4(4)-2

L=14

AREA =L(W)

AREA = 4X14

AREA =48 cm
