"Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only love is able to do that." What do you

think Martin Luther King Jr. meant by this quote? Although this quote was made in
the 1950's, do you think the message can still be applied to modern times? Has the
Civil Rights Movement achieved full success yet?

Martin Luther king meant that violence cannot be answered with violence. In order to bring peace and equality to all we must get rid of the hatred that corrupts our hearts. Yes this message can still be applied to modern times because there are still many racial issues that could use this advice.
