( i need help with this question!!)sickle cell amenia is a mutation that results in irregularly shaped red blood cells.The disease is very common in the african american population.Explain how this mutation is BOTH harmful AND beneficial.

It is harmful because it cannot carry us much oxygen. It is helpful because it limits the transmission and effects of malaria, which is common in Africa.
