By using the Foil Method to multiply out these parentheses so that we may write this in the standard form of quadratics. First we multiply x by x getting us x^2 and x by -6 getting us, -6x. Keep in mind you write these as adding each term. Next, we multiply 2 by x getting 2x and finally 2 by -6 getting us -12…

Now, we can add all of these terms together.

x^2*-6x+2x-12

Simplifying this gets us,

x^2-4x-12

Which is our answer.
