The scale factor of ∆AXB to ∆ CXD is 3/2 ( option B)

Similar triangles are triangles with equal corresponding angles and equal side ratios.

The side ratio of the similar triangles can be used to calculate the scale factor of the dilation.

Scale factor is expressed as;

scale factor = new dimension/original dimension

Since the dilation is from ∆AXB to ∆ CXD then the scale factor is

scale factor = 12/8

= 3/2

Therefore, the scale factor of ∆AXB to ∆ CXD is 3/2
