How did Henry Clay's idea of creating an American Transportation System change from the 1800s to today? In your opinion was he correct? How has it helped the United States? How has it hurt the United States?

What was a result of Henry Clay's American System? It united the North, South, and West economically and politically. So I think it had a positive effect. It has helped the U.S. because it united our people. It hurt the U.S. because we now have arguments on which country is north, or south.
