The number line which represents the data given is attached below. To determine the starting and ending values, convert values to decimal and arrange in ascending order.

Using the values given to create a number line :

  • -4, 2.5, -0.6, -5/7, √2, 3, 3/4, 4

We start by converting each value to decimal so that they are all in the same format .

-4 = -4.0

2.5 = 2.50

-0.6 = -0.60

-5/7 = -0.71

√2 = 1.41

3 = 3.0

3/4 = 0.75

4 = 4.0

Then we arrange in ascending order in other to identify the minimum and maximum values;

  • -4.0, -0.71, -0.60, 0.75, 1.41, 2.50, 3.0, 4.0

Now we can create our number line using minimum as the starting value and the maximum as the ending value.

Create a number line to represent the following numbers: -4, 2.5, -0.6, -5/7, √2, 3, 3/4, 4. How-example-1
