The distance between the two points is 6.85 units.

How to find the distance between the two points?

To find the distance between two points (x₁, y₁) and (x₂, y₂), we use the formula:

d = √( (x₁ - x₂)² + (y₁ - y₂)²)

We have the points (-1,-2) and (-4,-8), replacing these values we will get the distance:

d = √( (-1 + 4)² + (-2 + 8)²)

d = √( 9 + 36)

d = √(47) = 6.85

in the graph below you can see the graph of this segment.
