1. Order the numbers, in ascending order.

8, 11, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 16, 18, 21

2. Cross off one number from both ends until you reach the middle number, whether you're left with one or two.

11, 11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 16, 18

11, 12, 13, 15, 16, 16

12, 13, 15, 16

13, 15

3. Determine the average of these two numbers.

(13 + 15) / 2

28 / 2

14

The median for this set of data is 14.
