1. Be patient, spend time doing nothing, listen to your mind and body.
2. You should spend more time looking at the object you are drawing than the paper. The good thing about this is it forces you to really look at what you are drawing. I recommend repeating drawing the same object a few times, as this way you get to know its shape and qualities.
3. Find inspiration in the types of media that appeal to you.
