(20 Points), John is going to build a rectangular plot that he needs to split into two equal areas. The dimensions of the rectangle will be 52 feet by 165 feet. John has sketched out the three options. Find the cost for each choice if each linear foot of fence costs $ 11.00. (Example: 3 feet of fence would cost $ 33.0. $33.0.)

Explanation:

what we need is the perimeter of each plot.

A) nothing too bad, we have 2(52) + 3(165) = 599

599 × 11 = $6589 for plot A

B) same thing here, we have 3(52) + 2(165) = 486

486 × 11 = $5346 for plot B

C) we have the diagonal line as sqrt(52^2+165)^2=173 per Pythagorean theorem.

the perimeter is 2(52+165)+173=607

607 × 11 = $6677 for plot C
