so to find the mean from a frequency table you have to first draw another column call it midpoint.

second step look at the height Colum and for each set of number's find its mid point and write it next to its frequency

(easy way to find the mid point if your struggling is too add the 2 range of numbers and divide the answer by 2)

this case its quite easy (eg. 140+150=190÷2=145)

this is what the mid point column should look like

now times the mid point whit the frequency

• 145 × 7 = 1015
• 155 × 10 = 1550
• 165 × 15 = 2475
• 175 × 19 = 3325
• 190 × 9 = 1710

now add the answers up

1015+1550+2475+3325+1710=10,075

now add the frequency

7+10+15+19+9=60

now divide the total of the answers by the tot of frequency

10,075÷60=167.916666667

round to 1.dp

167.9
