The distance the bear travelled is 29 units

How to find the distance the bear travelled

The distance the bear travelled is the perimeter of the triangle

Lets calculate the slope side AC

Distance =
√((x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2 - y_1)^2)

Distance =
√((4 - 9)^2 + (-2 - 10)^2)

Distance = √(-5)² + (-12)²

Distance = √(25 + 144)

Distance = √(169)

Distance = 13

To find the horizontal distance AB

AB = 9 - 5 = 4

To find the vertical distance BC

BC = 10 - (-2) = 10 + 2 = 12

The perimeter

= AC + AB + BC

= 13 + 4 + 12

= 29
