a) Tyler made an error in his factorization. U can only factorize an equation, and this happens to be an expression, not an equation

6 -2x +5 +4x is not the same as (6 -2)x + (5 +4)x

-2x +4x +5 +6=0

+2x +11 =0

2x =-11

2x÷2 = -11÷2

x= -5.5

Answer:

a. The error he made was not simplifying properly by adding like terms.

b. 11 + 2x

Explanation:

6 - 2x + 5 + 4x

Step 1. Add like terms. 6 and 5 are like terms. -2x and 4x are like terms.

6 + 5 = 11

-2x + 4x = 2x
