Storytelling is the art of telling a lie or a half-truth in such a beautiful and skillful way that everyone accepts it as a narrative rather than an obvious lie. Conversely, telling a tale is only an action. A story is a noun, telling is a verb, and an is an article.

The difference is it’s a personal experience if you are the one telling a story and telling someone else’s story is different because it could have been mixed around or left out events if you weren’t the one physically experiencing it.
