For a school project, Shawn is investigating cell phone use in his hometown, Riverside. It turns out that residents of Riverside used their cell phones for 6,670 minutes last year. It also turns out that they used them 50% less this year. For how many minutes did the residents of Riverside use their cell phones this year?

Answer:

3335 minutes

Explanation:

If they used 50 percent of their phone time, they're using half of it. Therefore, 1/2 of 6670 is 3335.
