1/4 ( x -4 ) = 1/6 ( x -3 ) <====== given .... expand both sides

1/4 x -1 = 1/6 x - 1/2 simplify .... add '1' to both sides, subtract 1/6 x

1/12 x = 1/2

x = 1/2 * 12 = 6
