Answer:

1 acre is equal to 0.404686hectares or 0.4047

he ploughed 4 1/8 acres in the morning, i.e. 33/8 acres

he ploughed 1 5/8 acres in the afternoon, i.e. 13/8 acres

in all, he ploughed 33/8+13/8 = 46/8 acres = 23/4 acres

1 acre = 0.4047 hectares

conversion into hectares 23/4 acres = (23*0.4047)/4=2.327025hectares about 2.33hec

5 3/4 acres

==================

Add the acres plowed in the morning and the acres plowed in the afternoon.

First, we add the whole number parts of the mixed numbers:

  • 4 acres + 1 acre = 5 acres

Then, we add the fractional parts:

  • 1/8 acre + 5/8 acre = 6/8 acre

Now, we can simplify the fraction:

  • 6/8 acre = 3/4 acre

Finally, we add the whole number and the simplified fraction:

  • 5 acres + 3/4 acre = 5 3/4 acres
