Find the equation of the straight line which passes through the points (–4, 8) and (–6, –2). The slope is 5.

m = (-2-8)

(-6-4)

= -10

-10

= 1

Using y = mx + c

choose (-4,8)

8 = 1(-4) + c

8 = -4 + c

8 + 4 = c

12 = c

Equation is y = x + 12.
