Brianna, age 16, has been taken into custody and charged with shoplifting. At her pretrial

hearing, the judge decides that there is enough evidence for Brianna to be charged with a
crime. Since she will go to trial, Brianna will be sent to prison unless she makes bail. True or
False?

False, since Brianna is only 16 she is still considered a juvenile depending on the state she can be tried as a minor and only be given probation or sentenced to Juvie or if it’s a first time crime they can be less brutal and not try her as an adult
