How does meltwater contribute to the spread of pollution in lakes and streams

Meltwater is water that is formed by melting snow. In the cold Eastern European winters, snow carries industrial pollution to the ground.

When the snow melts in the spring, the resulting of snow and ice melts carries the acid into lakes and streams.
