At a local print shop, 20 copies can be made for $8. At this rate, how many copies could be made for $14?

Answer: 35 copies

Explanation:


20/8=2.5

2.5 Is the rate at which copies are being made. So to find c (copies) for $14, you would multiply 2.5 (the rate) by 14 to get 35. In other words, copies over dollars tells you the rate of copies being made. So, to find the copies being made, you would do the opposite operation.


c/14=2.5


c/14(14) = 2.5(14)

x=35
