Less noise pollution in the past was due to factors like lower urbanization, limited technology, different lifestyles, cultural norms, and less strict regulations. To reduce noise pollution now, enforce regulations, raise public awareness, plan cities with noise reduction in mind, use quieter technologies, and create designated quiet zones.

Answer:

in their time, they didn't have the more advanced tech that we have so we have louder, bigger, more advanced machinery being used everyday all over the place unlike they used to be. these practices could be practiced today but would be difficult and different as we are not used to not being able to use the technology we use everyday.
