Explanation:

1.

First of all denote the coordinates of the points and determine their coordinates: A(-5,1) and B(4,0) ⇒

x_a=-5\ \ \ \ x_b=4\ \ \ \ y_a=1\ \ \ \ y_b=0.

2.

Formula for calculating the distance between two points A(xa, ya) and B(xb, yb) on a plane:

AB=√((x_b-x_a)^2+(y_b-y_a)^2).

Hence,

AB=√((4-(-5))^2+(0-1)^2)=√((4+5)^2+(-1)^2) =\\\\=√(9^2+1) =√(81+1) =√(82) =9.05538513814...\approx9.1

Answer: AB≈9.1

Answer: c

Explanation:

I can't tell the answer but here is how you get.

Pythagroean theorm states a^2+b^2=c^2.

Hypotnuse is c.

Create a triangle by connecting the two points with a straight edge. That line is c. The other two lines are from the point with y=1 to y=0, and connect that to the other point with y=0. The two lines created are a and b. Square the length of those lines, add them, and get the square root of that.
