Tanks-Tanks could provide cover for troops going over trenches and provided support, Airplanes-Aircraft’s could scout out enemy positions for friendly’s on the ground, submarines- submarines could destroy enemy ships and disrupt supply lines, Chemical Warfare- Toxic gas was used to make combatants run out of their trenches which would lead to them being easily shot, and finally we have trenches-trenches were used to protect soldiers from artillery and gunfire which resulted in long drawn out warfare of attrition.
