scientist looking at the Trout population in this area used a mark and recapture method to estimate the
population in one of the ponds. They originally marked 34 Trout and then came back to the same pond a few
days later and caught 60 Trout. Of the 60 Trout 19 of them had the marking on them. Using this information,

The estimated total Trout population in all 8 ponds in the Rocky Mountains is 34 times the population of the pond where the study was conducted. Therefore, the estimate is 34×8=272 Trout.
