0 is a number, a number is a explanation of how many of something there is, if a number is 1 their is one of that something ect

Answer: From a mathematical point of view, the answer is as follows: Nothing is a set and zero is a number. Nothing is the empty set, i.e. the set with no elements. While zero is the carnality of the empty set, i.e. the number of its elements. It is still representing an amount of something.
