Flying against the wind and airplane travels 3720 km in six hours flying with the wind the same plane travels 4500 km in five hours. What is the rate of the plane in still air and what is the rate of the wind

Explanation:

distance / time = rate

3720 / 6 = a - w a = airplane speed w = windspeed

4500/ 5 = a + w add the equations:

1520 = 2a

a = 760 km/hr then , using either of the equations w = 140 km/hr
