Explanation:

1. get your points by using different values of x in the equation such as -2 or 0 to get your value of y. eg

Using x= -2,

y=-(-2) + 5

y=2+5

y=7

therefore your point at x=-2 is 7 (-2,7)

2. repeat step one for as many values of x as you like. I personally use the range -2 to +2 unless the range is specified in the question. Depends on you

3. plot the graph with the points from your table of values

4. Draw your line with it passing through at least 3 points
