a) i set up a proportion as follows:

$1.33/748g = x/30,000

i cross-multiplied and got $53.34

b) i set up a proportion as follows:

let 'y' = how many gallons $150 can buy

$1.33/748g = 150/y

i cross-multiplied and got 84,360.9 gallons
